The Other Side of Me

In these captivating artworks, the women’s identities are artfully concealed, with their heads and faces replaced by an array of vibrant flowers. This imaginative artistic choice serves as a powerful symbol of transformation and growth, representing a blossoming into a post-modern design. The flowers, with their diverse colors and forms, not only add a touch of natural beauty but also evoke themes of renewal, femininity, and the ephemeral nature of identity. By merging human and floral elements, the artist creates a striking visual metaphor that challenges traditional notions of identity and celebrates the fluidity and complexity of the modern self.

Additionally, these pieces draw inspiration from the rich heritage of Qajar dynasty paintings, particularly those depicting dancers. The Qajar era, known for its distinctive style of portraiture and vibrant artistic expression, adds a historical depth to the modern aesthetic. The influence of Qajar art is evident in the intricate details and graceful, dynamic poses of the figures, reminiscent of the elegance and cultural richness of 19th-century Persian art.
