In October 2023, I had the honor of being one of the judges for the Stereotype Badge Design Competition, an international illustration exhibition that challenged artists to create badges that break the stereotypes of different cultures, genders, and identities. The competition was organized by the International Society of Illustrators and received more than 500 entries from 40 countries. The winners were announced on November 15, 2023, and their badges were displayed in a virtual gallery.

 I was invited to be a judge because I was one of the previous winners of the competition in 2021, with my badge that represented the diversity and beauty of Iranian women. 

As a judge, I had the opportunity to review and evaluate the submissions based on their originality, creativity, and message. I was impressed by the diversity and quality of the works and I learned a lot from the different perspectives and styles of the artists. In this article, I will share some of my favorite badges and what they mean to me.
